The Merrell Moab 2 has been a common sight on and off the trail for many years. Often seen on the feet of backpackers and grey nomads roaming the city's cafes early on a Saturday, the Moab 2 has served society well. Through the 1TRL program, we now get updated versions of this classic suitable for a contemporary audience.
Waste-reduction is the name of the game on this pair, with multiple uses of recycled material across the entire shoe. The uppers are made with canvas and plant-based leather, featuring accents in a recycled cow leather. The laces, lining and footbad are all made with recycled materials. The reinforced toe and heel mudguards are made using 100% recycled coffee grind rubber (didn't even know that was a thing).
For the sole tooling, the lightweight EVA midsole—with Merrell Air Cushion system in the heel—features a Vibram® Ecostep Recycled outsole, which uses 30% recycled rubber whilst providing exceptional grip and long-lasting durability.
The last touch is Merrell's Cleansport NXT™ treatment, which helps to keep nasty smells at-bay, which is helpful because you'll be wearing these a lot.
